This is Ijja Mimouni, who made the rugs on this page; she is holding another one that is sold. She made it with her son's wife in about 15 days. She has six children, three sons and three daughters. Her husband is dead, and she lives with her three sons, one of whom is married. He grows corn and barley, raises sheep, and also sells at the market. Her three daughters are all married and live with their husbands. With the money she earns from weaving she pays household expenses, and hopes to build a new house.

Piece 3.12758 is a small pile rug in the Tazenakht style. The main background color is gray, but the outer border and central panel have a dark blue ground, and the crosses at each end have black in the centers. Other colors are red, white and orange. The edges are a bit wavy. The laciness of the design is clearer in the close-up. The size is about 2'1" x 5'2" and the price is $200.
